If inside can be outside and outside can be inside, the light can be heavy and the heavy can be light. These apparent contradictions are incorporated as a working tool to articulate the project, allowing the initial conditions—such as the steep slope and the distinctive landscape of the Costa Brava—to be embraced.
The solidity of a stone volume emerging from the rock contrasts with the surprise of perceiving it almost floating above the ground.
Beneath this volume, the ground floor finds shelter while at the same time projecting itself toward the sea, dissolving the boundary between inside and outside.
These dichotomies become evident in the movement through the house, where a sequence of shifting views alternates between the landscape, the sea and complete openness, and moments of solidity, warmth and protection. Concrete understood as rock and wood as home complete this series of dualities, shaping an atmosphere that is both powerful and balanced.
