Casa 1701
Vilablareix, Girona
2017
The building emerges from a clear structural framework that organizes the spaces with serenity and coherence, shaping not only the interior layout but also the rhythm and presence of the façade. The first floor houses the main rooms, while the ground floor remains open and flexible, accommodating the entrance and multipurpose spaces that expand the way of inhabiting. On the upper floor, three bands create a subtle balance: two lateral strips embracing private and service areas, and a central open band extending outward, seeking light and landscape.
The ground floor is conceived as a lived threshold, with the entrance, staircase, and two large porches connecting to the garden and pool. One accompanies arrival and parking; the other becomes an open, versatile room, blurring the limits between interior and exterior. The materiality, expressed through the essential strength of exposed concrete, defines structure and façades with an honest and timeless expression, also extending inside to provide continuity and character to all spaces.
