Begur, Baix Empordà
2017
The project takes root in Begur, a place where the Mediterranean landscape unfolds with serenity between the sea and the gentle elevations of the Baix Empordà. The intervention seeks to engage in dialogue with this privileged setting, creating a house that integrates with the plot and celebrates the views and proximity to nature. The entrance courtyard is conceived as a transitional space, a path that carries one from the outside world to the refuge of the home, offering a moment of pause before entering. To the south, the relationship with the garden and the pool becomes a gesture of openness, a place where everyday life can unfold with calm and connection to the landscape.
The views toward the sea and the light of the sunrise, near the iconic Cala d’Aiguablava, inspire an architecture that seeks simplicity and the beauty of essentials. The materials, natural and honest, engage in dialogue with the site, reinforcing the idea of a house that is not only inhabited but experienced as a refuge. The covered spaces and openings frame the landscape, making it part of the interior life and creating an atmosphere that celebrates the union between architecture and nature.
