Rupià, Baix Empordà

The project arose from the desire to build two new village houses for a family from Sabadell, long enamored with the Empordanet. The two dwellings, one for the parents and the other for the children and their families, are designed to share outdoor spaces, allowing them to enjoy these moments together in their second homes, while maintaining a degree of privacy and independence between the two family units. The goal was to create a fluid relationship between interiors and surroundings, integrating the volumes with the landscape and the village context.
One of the clients’ initial premises was the use of the EvoWall construction system, an industrialized system with lightweight prefabricated concrete panels designed to meet Passivhaus requirements. The challenge was to integrate this construction language with the materiality and design of the houses, respecting the natural and built environment, and reflecting the idiosyncrasy of the Empordanet. The spaces are conceived as places of gathering and calm, where family life unfolds freely, without losing sensitivity to context and tradition.
