Casa 2328
Pals, Baix Empordà
2023
The project draws inspiration from the rich landscape surrounding the house: the medieval character of Pals, the views over the plain, and the presence of the oak forest as a refuge and structuring element of the landscape. At the scale of the plot, these realities are reflected in the rocky terrain and in the way the house is inserted among trees and rocks, inhabiting the interstices and highlighting each fragment of the territory. Circulation and flows are organized to frame the views and make the experience of the house inseparable from its surroundings.
The materials seek to engage in dialogue with this identity: compressed earth and ceramics evoke tradition and craftsmanship, while the concrete volumes connect with the mineral presence of the landscape. Openings and transitions between interior and exterior allow nature to become part of the architectural experience, creating spaces that can only be understood in relation to the site. The forest, the rocks, and the views toward the plain and the nearby Costa Brava become protagonists, offering an architecture that celebrates the union between dwelling and landscape.
