Tamariu, Baix Empordà
2024
The site strategy for Club Tamariu is based on a respectful integration with the landscape, where nature is the defining element of the place. The sea, cliffs, and Mediterranean forests not only shape the surroundings but become central protagonists of the intervention, creating architecture that engages in dialogue with these elements rather than imposing itself. Preserving the existing landscape and maintaining continuity guides every decision, envisioning the construction as a harmonious extension of the territory.
The architecture draws inspiration from Empordà’s building traditions and the way the landscape shapes forms and spaces. Reinterpreted dry-stone walls create inhabitable platforms within the forest, forming corners that blend seamlessly with nature. The use of local materials, green roofs, and native vegetation reinforces this intention of integration, proposing a project where the buildings do not just adapt to the landscape but become part of it, creating a habitat that celebrates the relationship between architecture and its surroundings.
